This last Tuesay, some delegates went on a trip to the Capital. We met with Dr. Brenda Cassellius, Senator Patricia Torres Ray, and Representative Jim Davnie. Representative Jim Davnie met with us and asked us to write a letter to the Governor to tell him if we are satisfied with the education we recieve in Minneapolis. If you think you are getting a good education let the Governer know so he can make sure that Minneapolis Schools get the funds they need and won't have the money allocated to another school district.
To contact Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon, please write, phone, or e-mail.

At the recent General Conference, We conducted the meeting in Parliamentary procedure. Parliamentary Procedure is a set of rules that create meetings that are quicker, more efficient, and allows more voices to be heard. The reason why Student Council is doing our meetings in parliamentray procedure is so that we can improve our delegation and be eligible for the National Association of Student Council Excellence Award. All Delegates will have to know the basic rules of how parliamentary procedure works in order to participate in future meetings. Below is a link to a website that can give you the basic rules needed to participate in parliamentary style meeting. http://www.ajli.org/ama/orig/res_lead_meet_parliaproc.pdf
